annual music productivity post

Gear annoys me.  As much as I want to use my analog shit, It's kindof a pain.  I have a Dr.Groove that's really cool, and a cassette 8 track that's also cool.  But, like, even though i like what i can get after a while, I don't feel like it's worth it.  Sorry.  I just started getting into the K.I.S.S. coolness of Garageband and my old buddy iDrum, which when used together on a system that doesn't drag, good stuff can get done.  I don't think that was a proper sentence.  Oh Well.

If you need it, you will find it.

Just when I was planning out some shelving solutions to the art room, as well as thinking about expanding/replacing my light box, I walk past a junk pile on my corner.  In it is a L-bracketed shelf with two think supports, perfect for a counter-style shelf.  And Under it is a long fluourescent light setup, with transformers and sockets for four tubes.  God bless handyness, luck, and a junk-picker's eye.

Cassius Returns

Tonight Derek returns to play bass with Judas & Brutus.  Lauren sounded great last week and it's unfortunate that she isn't going to be with us tonight.  But if last week was getting Lauren acquainted, and this week is getting Derek re-acquainted, next week we should be in good shape to get the next phase of J&B moving.  I really look forward to getting the setsiled down so we can have some full-ensemble jams.

After this one i'm taking a break

While I'm getting better at manipulating sounds in Reason, and my compositions are getting more complex and fleshed out, I think that I need to take a break from making certain types of tracks.  I usually complain that I'm not being as productive as I want to be.  This time, I think I might be too productive.
And while saying this I found a track that I forgot making, something very suitable for the Innuendo project.  So of course, I have to finish it and put off other things.  Oh, creativity.
